Bangkok: The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of Thailand organized the 10th Asia-Pacific Capital Markets Regulators Forum (ARMS) 2025 to facilitate the exchange of insights and experiences related to the regulation of securities, futures, and digital asset trading. This significant event, held on June 23-24, 2025, in Bangkok, drew participation from numerous capital market regulators across the Asia-Pacific region.
According to Thai News Agency, the annual ARMS seminar was privileged to have SEC Thailand as the host, with Mr. Thawatchai Pitayasophon, Deputy Secretary-General of the SEC, presiding over the event and delivering the keynote address. He was joined by Ms. Pattanaporn Tripipat and Mr. Suttisak Jitpimolmas, Assistant Secretary-Generals of the SEC. Representatives from eight countries, including the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), Capital Market Authority (CMA), Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), Securities Commission, Malaysia (SC), Financial Services Agency (FSA), Indonesia Financial Services Authority (OJK), and Securities and Futures Commission, Hong Kong (SFC), were in attendance.
The forum focused on three main topics: the use and challenges of technologies in surveillance and enforcement, emerging trends in market misconduct, and digital assets concerning regulatory, surveillance, and enforcement aspects. Participants exchanged information and experiences on regulatory affairs, discussed the challenges and obstacles each country faces, and proposed solutions to address these issues. The event also aimed to enhance cooperation among the participating regulators, enabling them to perform their supervisory roles more effectively in alignment with the current global situation.
