Sihasak Attends EU-Indo-Pacific Meeting to Discuss Transnational Crime Resolution

Brussels: Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, is attending the 4th EU INDO-PACIFIC Ministerial Forum (IPMF) in Brussels, Belgium, from November 20-21, 2025. During the EU-ASEAN Ministerial Lunch, he highlighted the importance of regional cooperation and multilateralism in the face of geopolitical volatility and global economic challenges. Mr. Sihasak addressed the pressing need to tackle transnational crime and online fraud, and extended an invitation to an upcoming meeting in Thailand focused on countering online fraud, scheduled for December.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Nikorndej Plangkul, Director-General of the Department of Information and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, discussed Mr. Sihasak’s engagements at the meeting. The Minister emphasized enhancing cooperation on critical regional issues, such as cross-border challenges, supply chain connectivity, clean energy, and digital transformation.

Additionally, the Minister of Foreign Affairs held bilateral talks with the Foreign Ministers of Estonia, Romania, Germany, and Denmark. He is scheduled to meet with representatives from the Netherlands, Slovakia, Latvia, Belgium, and the European Union. During these discussions, he advocated for Thailand’s interests and sought support for the International Conference on Global Partnership to Combat Internet Fraud, which Thailand will host in December.
