Thai-Cambodian Border Stays Peaceful as Evacuees Return Home

Bangkok: The Thai-Cambodian border remains calm, with both sides maintaining their positions along their strongholds. Meanwhile, residents from evacuation centers in four provinces have returned to their hometowns. The army is requesting cooperation from the public to avoid the area if any suspicious objects are found and to immediately notify authorities.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Jirayu Huangsap, spokesman for the Prime Minister’s Office and the committee of the Thai-Cambodian Border Situation Administration Center (TCASAC), revealed that from the evening of Monday, August 11, 2025, until this morning (August 12), there had been no clashes or violence in the Thai-Cambodian border area in 7 provinces. Forces from both sides remain stationed along their respective positions. The Thai side is strictly adhering to the agreements of the recent GBC meeting and is committed to maintaining peace and order.

Meanwhile, residents who were previously residing in evacuation centers in all four provinces have already returned to their hometowns. However, if residents find any unsafe areas or suspicious objects, they are asked to notify local administrative officials or police officers at 191 to coordinate with the bomb disposal unit to take action.

“All relevant government agencies continue to diligently perform their duties to maintain peace and sovereignty in Thailand. We are committed to providing care and assistance to affected individuals, as well as expediting economic and social rehabilitation to ensure the region can resume normal operations,” said Mr. Jirayu.
