Ubon Ratchathani Governor Inspects Bomb Shelters Amidst Regional Dispute

Ubon Ratchathani: The Governor of Ubon Ratchathani visited the Dom Pradit village in Nam Yuen district to monitor the situation, encourage the villagers, and inspect the bomb shelters to ensure they are ready for use.

According to Thai News Agency, Lieutenant Colonel Adisak Noisuwan, the Governor of Ubon Ratchathani province, traveled to the area next to the canal in Dom Pradit village to oversee the readiness of the bomb shelter and provide moral support to the local residents.

Lt. Col. Adisak Noisuwan stated that his visit included an inspection of the bomb shelter at Ban Paet Um School, located in Tambon Dom Pradit. He mentioned adjustments to the shelter, such as laying artificial grass in the tunnel, to make the facility more usable. The Governor also encouraged local people and introduced members of the tourism-related business sector to assess the area’s preparedness and potential to attract tourists. Additionally, the Nam Yuen Fruit Festival was held today, highlighting that local residents continue their daily lives.

The regional situation remains unchanged, despite reports of Cambodia filing a lawsuit with the World Court concerning a disputed area. A quarter of this area includes a channel, yet villagers maintain normalcy in their activities. Some locals expressed their intent to await the outcome of the Joint Border Commission meeting scheduled for this evening.
