Bangkok: An unexploded BM-21 rocket crater has been discovered in Nam Yuen District, Ubon Ratchathani Province, near a pond and just 100 meters away from a childcare center.
According to Thai News Agency, the presence of the unexploded rocket is linked to incidents from late July when Cambodia fired BM-21 rockets into Thai communities, resulting in loss of life and property. The ongoing impact of these rocket attacks continues to affect the residents of the area.
CCTV footage from July 25th documented the launch of BM-21 rockets by Cambodia into a Thai community in Nam Yuen District. During this incident, 11 rockets were fired, with two directly hitting and damaging houses. One rocket, which remained unexploded, was recently discovered by local villagers near a pond close to a childcare center.
Community leaders have reported the situation to the district office and are coordinating with the bomb disposal unit from the Ubon Ratchathani Provincial Police Investigation Division and the Border Patrol Police. The bomb disposal team is scheduled to collect the unexploded device on August 25th.
