Bangkok: Warawut Silpa-archa, a party-list MP and leader of the Chartthaipattana Party, has addressed circulating rumors regarding the Pheu Thai Party’s potential nomination of him as its prime ministerial candidate. Warawut expressed gratitude for the honor but noted he was unaware of who made the announcement, reaffirming his commitment to the Chartthaipattana Party. He confirmed that the party remains cohesive with its 10 seats intact and emphasized the collective decision-making process within the party, which involves all 10 MPs and the executive committee working collaboratively on political strategies.
According to Thai News Agency, Warawut described the current political climate in Thailand as highly competitive, citing the actions of major political parties, such as Bhumjaithai and Pheu Thai, who are attempting to bolster their ranks by engaging smaller parties. He acknowledged that interactions with MPs from various parties are a routine aspect of political dynamics, especially during periods of heightened competition. Warawut reiterated that despite these interactions and the rumors, the Chartthaipattana Party remains solid with all its members, and no agreements have been reached with other parties.
