Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The government has anticipated security disturbances during Christmas and New Year holidays, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Wiranto said.

"We anticipate security threats every year," Wiranto stated, after a limited cabinet meeting here, on Monday.

"We anticipate all community activities carefully," Wiranto remarked.

"The government has taken serious efforts regarding security stability, food prices, and transportation tariffs," the minister said.

President Joko Widodo earlier chaired a special limited cabinet meeting to discuss preparations for Christmas and New Year holidays.

The president urged the Police, the Military, and the National Intelligence Agency (BIN) to assure maximum security and increase supervision in public places such as airports, ports, stations, and bus terminals ahead of the celebrations.
